Before we begin this class lets set the foundation right;

What do we mean when we say keyboard shortcuts?
Keyboard shortcuts are amalgamation of two or more keys that when pressed together performs a task that would typically require a mouse or other pointing device. Keyboard shortcuts make it easier to interact with your computer, saving your time and effort when you work with Windows and other programs.

Also, most computer programs provide accelerator keys that make it easier to work with menus and other commands available in the program for users. Keyboard shortcuts are very essential tools for Blogger, Copywriter, office clerk and accountant.

How do i use keyboard shortcut?
Like you already know a keyboard shortcut is combination of two to more computer keys or single key to aid us work faster with our computer. Take for example Ctrl+Z is a shortcut key to undo a task when implementing it the plus sign (+) is not added because we only use it to indicate that those keys should be pressed in combination.

GENERAL KEYBOARD SHORTCUT FOR PC & DESKTOP COMPUTER

Esc                                             cancel current task

Ctrl + Shift+ t                            open a closed tab on any browser

End                                             Move the cursor to the end of a line or move to the bottom of a webpage

Home                                         Move the cursor to the beginning of a line or move to the top of a     webpage

Left Arrow, Right Arrow,             
Up Arrow, or Down Arrow,     Move the cursor or selection one space or line in the direction of the arrow, or scroll a webpage in the direction of the arrow

Cap lock                                 to use uppercase latter

Windows logo key                 Open the Start menu

Tab                                          Double spacing

Backspace                              Erase typed words

Page-Up                                  Move the cursor or page up one screen

Page Down                             Move the cursor or page down one screen

Delete                                    Delete the character after the cursor, or the selected text; in Windows, delete the selected item and move it to the Recycle Bin

Insert                                      Turn Insert mode off or on. When Insert mode is on, text that you type      is inserted at the cursor. When Insert mode is off, text that you type replaces existing characters.

Ctrl+Home                              Move to the top of a document

Ctrl+End                                 Move to the bottom of a document

Windows logo key+D             Return to desktop 

Alt+Tab                                  Switch between open programs or windows

Ctrl+Shift+t                            to open a close tab on while browsing

Alt+F4                                     Close the active item, or exit the active program

Ctrl+S                                      Save the current file or document (works in most programs)

Ctrl+C                                      Copy the selected item

 Ctrl+X                                    Cut the selected item

Ctrl+V                                      Paste the selected item

Ctrl+Z                                       undo an action

Ctrl+A                                       Select all items in a document or window

Ctrl+Y                                        redo an action


Windows key +F1                      Display Windows Help and Support

Shift+Delete                              delete the selected item without moving it to the Recycle Bin first

F2                                                Rename the selected item

Ctrl+Right Arrow                       Move the cursor to the beginning of the next word

Ctrl+Left Arrow                          Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous word

Ctrl+Down Arrow                       Move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph

Ctrl+Up Arrow                            Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous paragraph

Ctrl+Shift with an arrow key       select a block of text

Shift with any arrow key              Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop or select text 
                                                       within a document

Ctrl with arrow key+Spacebar    Select multiple individual items in a window or on the desktop

Ctrl+A                                           Select all items in a document or window 

F3                                                  Search for a file or folder

Alt+Enter                                      Display properties for the selected item

Alt+F4                                           Close the active item, or exit the active program

Alt+Spacebar                                Open the shortcut menu for the active window

Ctrl+F4                                         close the active document (in programs that allow you to have multiple           documents open simultaneously)

Alt+Tab                                         Switch between open items

Ctrl+Alt+Tab                                 Use the arrow keys to switch between open items

Ctrl+Mouse scroll wheel              Change the size of icons on the desktop

Windows logo key +Tab               Cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Aero Flip 3-D

Ctrl+Windows logo key +Tab     Use the arrow keys to cycle through programs on the taskbar by using           Aero Flip 3-D

Alt+Esc                                         Cycle through items in the order in which they were opened

F6                                                  Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop

F4                                                   Display the address bar list in Windows Explorer

Shift+F10                                       Display the shortcut menu for the selected item

Ctrl+Esc                                         Open the Start menu

F10                                                 Activate the menu bar in the active program

Right Arrow                                   Open the next menu to the right, or open a submenu

Left Arrow                                     Open the next menu to the left, or close a submenu

F5                                                    Refresh the active window

Alt+Up                                             Arrow View the folder one level up in Windows Explorer

Ctrl+Shift+Esc                                Open Task Manager

Press Shift key                                 when you insert a CD it Prevent the CD from automatically playing

Ctrl+N                                              open a new window or new page

Ctrl+Shift+N                                    create a new folder

Windows logo key + + or -               Zoom in or out

Windows logo key + Esc                   Exit Magnifier

Ctrl+R                                                to rotate an image or move characters to the right

Fn + F9                                               lock keyboard mouse

Fn + F8                                                project computer screen

Fn+F1                                                     Put computer in sleep mode

Fn+F2                                                     Put computer in flight mode

Fn+F5                                                     Reduce screen brightness

Fn+F6                                                     Increase screen brightness

This is certainly not all, there are over a million keyboard shortcuts keys that are available for computer users. And like I earlier stated every computer program has its own accelerator keys that make it easier to work with menus and other commands available in the program for users.
